Hopeful Horizons Extends Free Mental Health Services to Rescued Individuals in Partnership with Sneha Kakha Foundation
Hopeful Horizons, in collaboration with Sneha Kakha Foundation, provided free mental health services to individuals rescued from the streets of Kathmandu and Lalitpur—many of whom were living with untreated mental health conditions and had been without access to proper care and support.
This initiative was rooted in a shared commitment to uphold the dignity and rights of individuals experiencing mental illness, regardless of their background or circumstances. Through this collaboration, our team of mental health professionals offered compassionate and immediate care to help stabilize, support, and assess the needs of those brought to safety by the foundation.
The services provided included:
Mental health assessments to identify clinical needs
Supportive counseling and emotional care tailored to each individual’s condition
Guidance and training for caregivers and staff at the foundation to manage psychological and behavioral challenges
Referrals for ongoing care and rehabilitation support when needed
The individuals we served had faced immense hardships, stigma, and isolation. Through this joint effort, we were able to offer not just professional care, but also warmth, understanding, and hope.
We are deeply thankful to Sneha Kakha Foundation for their tireless work in rescuing, sheltering, and advocating for some of the most vulnerable members of our society. At Hopeful Horizons, we remain committed to standing alongside such partners in creating a more inclusive and mentally healthy community.
